Like all of the treatment environments in our San Francisco day spa, our Tropical Rainforest Room was borne out of our quest to ignore the 'norm' and create an environment that would be interactive with, and actually enhance the treatment. Our goal here was to duplicate the effectiveness of a body 'wrap' without the discomfort and claustrophobic feeling of the wrap itself. Since wet body treatments are very often part of a 'special occasion' spa day, we also wanted to create a dramatic and alluring experience that was a complete contrast from the run-of-the-mill vichy shower. The result is a treatment room that is the talk of the industry and which must be experienced to be believed!

The treatment begins with your therapist taking you to a rock-walled series of secluded alcoves.  Gentle 'jungle' music soothes you while the therapist applies the exfoliating body scrub, then follows with the body mask.* The therapist then leaves the room while you enjoy the warm jungle mist. After about 10 minutes of steam, the skies open up to a warm, heavy, tropical rain which completely washes away the mask.  As the rain subsides,  a 100 gallon a minute invigorating waterfall flowing into an infinity soaking tub becons.  The final alcove in your journey is a finishing area with a warmed towel and robe.

Designed to contrast with the modern decor and uber-attentive services of the rest of the spa, our signature water treatment area is a personal retreat to a place far from your everyday life. A therapist is with you for the beginning of your journey, however, for even more seclusion you can opt to do this treatment without a therapist.

Please note: We charge a 4% surcharge to all treatments to offset some of the regulatory costs to doing business in San Francisco.
